Rabindranath Maharaj is the award-winning author of eight books, including five novels. His novel, The Amazing Absorbing Boy won both the Trillium Fiction Award and the City of Toronto Book Award. He has two books out in Spring 2018: a novel, Adjacentland, and an edited collection Luminous Ink: Writers on Writing in Canada.
He was born and raised in Trinidad and moved to Ajax, Ontario in the early nineties. In 2012, Maharaj received a Lifetime Literary Award as part of the commemoration of Trinidad’s 50th independence anniversary, and in January 2013, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. Maharaj was most recently the Writer in Residence at the University of New Brunswick.
